Scottsdale, AZ – GPS Insight, the leading technology provider of GPS fleet tracking software, sponsored 12 News and St. Vincent De Paul’s Turkey Tuesday, the largest single day turkey drive in the United States. The event took place last Tuesday, November 25th 2014.
For over 20 years, 12 News and St. Vincent De Paul have partnered to champion Turkey Tuesday, which takes place the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The turkeys donated to St. Vincent De Paul are used to feed the many underprivileged families in Arizona. St. Vincent De Paul has one the largest industrial kitchens in the Southwest and five charitable dining rooms that serve over 1.2 million meals to hungry families each year.
In addition to being a co-sponsor of Turkey Tuesday, GPS Insight donated $10,000 towards the turkey drive, live on Tuesday night, beyond $1,000 which was donated the night prior. Combined, GPS Insight’s donations were the equivalent of more than 700 turkeys to help 12 News and St. Vincent De Paul exceed their goal of 20,000 turkeys and reach a total of 24,640.
Robert Donat, CEO of GPS Insight, said "GPS Insight is happy to be involved in the local Phoenix community and give back every chance we have. We are proud to sponsor this wonderful event and to help feed the families in need during this holiday season.”
